Atlanta, Georgia - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will host the 58th annual Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Conference April 20-24, 2009 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia - 4355 Ashford Dunwoody Road in Atlanta. CDC’s EIS program is a two-year postgraduate program of service and on-the-job training for health professionals interested in the practice of epidemiology. EIS officers, also known as Disease Detectives, are sent out to assist local and state health departments as well as deployed internationally to facilitate various health studies and investigations.
