San Diego Zoo, California - Crowds of guests at the San Diego Zoo are enjoying watching the San Diego Zoo’s 7-month-old giant panda cub as she explores her new surroundings at the Giant Panda Research Station.

Little Zhen Zhen and her mother Bai Yun, were offered the opportunity to move into a different area of the station than the area which had been the youngster’s home since birth. The transition to the new area was begun in February and she is now spending all of her time in the new area. The 26-pound cub has been learning to climb and maneuver in the great outdoors and the new area gives her plenty of new areas to explore and have fun.

The move means the pair will share one exhibit in the Research Station while the other exhibits will house the cub’s dad Gao Gao or her sister Su Lin.

Zhen Zhen and Bai Yun are available for public viewing from 9 a.m. to noon. Research staff expect the pair’s time spent outdoors will increase as the cub adjusts to her new surroundings.
